FAI President Milo Corcoran last night dismissed reports that Bryan Robson would be interviewed later this week for the vacant Ireland manager's job.

It had been suggested the former Manchester United and England skipper would fly into Dublin for talks with the FAI, but Corcoran has insisted that a shortlist will not be drawn up until next week.

Corcoran says the leading candidates to replace Mick McCarthy will be interviewed in the run-up to Christmas, with the successful applicant installed just after New Year's Day.
