Becks on course for old Trafford return

England captain David Beckham could return to the Manchester United side next Wednesday when they face Deportivo La Coruna in the Champions League at Old Trafford.

Beckham has been sidelined with a rib injury but along with international team-mate, defender Rio Ferdinand (thigh), is making good progress.

Manager Sir Alex Ferguson said: “Ferdinand and Beckham ran well yesterday and if they get into the football part on Monday they could be considered for the Deportivo game.”
