Selection problems pile up for Venables
Terry Venables faces a selection crisis ahead of Leeds' Uefa Cup clash with Hapoel Tel-Aviv in Florence following the withdrawal of Mark Viduka and Danny Mills.
Viduka will not travel to Italy for the second leg, second-round tie on Thursday after becoming a father for the first time.
Mills is again absent because of "family problems". It is doubtful whether he will figure in this weekend's Premiership clash at home to Bolton.
Leeds travel defending a 1-0 lead but could also be without Jonathan Woodgate due to a groin injury, while Teddy Lucic is ineligible after playing for AIK Solna in the qualifying round at the start of the season.
With skipper Dominic Matteo out for another three months with a knee injury, it means Lucas Radebe will be partnered in the centre of defence by Michael Duberry.
Duberry has not started for the first team since early March, and has just three substitute appearances behind him this season, totalling 30 minutes.
Olivier Dacourt, out for another two weeks with a groin injury, Robbie Fowler and Seth Johnson also miss the trip.
The only good news for Venables is that Alan Smith is fit again after missing the last two matches with an ankle injury.
