Adams praise for 'ultimate pro' Beckham
Micky Adams paid tribute to David Beckham after the Manchester United ace put paid to Leicester's chances of a Worthington Cup upset.
Beckham knocked home the 80th-minute penalty which put his team in front before Kieran Richardson added a second in the last minute.
And Adams could not help but admire Beckham's coolness as he turned the game.
He said: "David is the ultimate professional.
"He has to cope with pressure few others have to and it is a great tribute to him that he can come out a perform the way he does."
But even Sir Alex Ferguson was honest enough to say the penalty decision was contentious after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer went down under a clumsy challenge from Frank Sinclair.
"You don't always get those - it was a bit soft," said Ferguson.
Adams added: "We have to respect the decision but the game hung on it and that sticks in the gullet.
"It is difficult to explain your emotions because when you come to Old Trafford you need your goalkeeper to play well and he did and there were other admirable performances, yet we have come away beaten."
