Emile Heskey has given a £100,000 (€159,000) donation to financially-troubled former club Leicester.

Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier has saluted striker Emile Heskey following his generous donation

Heskey is supporting the Gary Lineker consortium which is trying to save the Foxes from financial collapse.

Houllier said: "It is typical of the man, he is so generous and sincere. He told me what he was going to do and I fully support him."

And he joked: "We know the manager here has a good heart, now we see the players do too!"
