A financial consortium headed by former England striker Gary Lineker has submitted a bid to Leicester’s administrators which could secure the future of the club.

Emile Heskey has given a £100,000 (€159,000) donation to financially-troubled former club Leicester.

Crisis-hit Leicester were today placed in the hands of administrators by a High Court judge to allow breathing space while the rescue bid launched by Gary Lineker is being considered.
