Schmeichel to miss Birmingham match

Peter Schmeichel will miss Manchester City’s Barclaycard Premiership clash at Birmingham tomorrow after being struck down with flu.

Carlo Nash will take over from the great Dane between the posts as City seek to arrest an alarming slump which has seen them drop into the bottom three after taking just two points from their last six matches.

Maine Road chief Kevin Keegan is also promising at least one other change to the side which suffered a 3-0 home reverse to Chelsea last week, which could mean a first start of the campaign for either defender Richard Dunne or Australian midfielder Danny Tiatto, who is back from a three-game ban.
