A bit of Liam Coyle magic salvaged a point for injury-hit Derry as they extended their unbeaten run to ten games ahead of next week's FAI Cup final.

Coyle's solo effort came on 79 minutes as his shot from the edge of the area beat Stephen O'Brien.

Town had led from the hour mark when Eric Lavine set up Alan Kirby to fire past Alan Gough for a spectacular opening goal.

Paddy Mulvihill almost won it for Town in stoppage time but shot into the sidenetting.
