A smiling Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson arrived back in Britain from South Africa this morning.

The 60-year-old father of three had been accused of indecently assaulting 21-year-old Nadia Abrahams while being driven in a car in the city of Cape Town.

But the South African Director of Public Prosecutions has said there were no grounds to press any charges and he will not be pursuing the matter.

It is not yet known if any action will be taken against Ms Abrahams, who made the allegations on Friday.

Ferguson, who has always strongly denied the allegation, arrived at Heathrow Airport’s terminal one at 6.30am this morning with his wife Cathy.
