Sorensen out until new year

Sunderland goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen will be out of action until the new year after dislocating his elbow in yesterday’s 3-1 defeat at Arsenal.

The Danish international had already conceded two early goals to the Premiership leaders when he clashed with Thierry Henry in the 17th minute when contesting a high ball into the Black Cats penalty area and he immediately signalled for treatment.
