Redknapp goal at death saves Spurs

A freak goal a minute from time by Jamie Redknapp secured an away win for Tottenham against Blackburn at Ewood Park this afternoon.

Corrado Grabbi’s appearance from the bench added fresh impetus for Rovers and Dean Richards did well to block out the little Italian who a minute later put a volley narrowly off-target.

Friedel kept out Redknapp’s effort from distance, then Gillespie’s cross gave Duff a free header but the Irish winger wasted the chance.

With one minute left, a fluke goal by Redknapp won the game for Spurs. Blackburn were at sixes and sevens as Steffen Iversen ran at the defence and crossed, and Redknapp miskicked at the centre and sliced the ball over Friedel into the net.
