Woodgate set for return

Leeds centre-back Jonathan Woodgate is poised to return to the starting line-up after missing the last two matches with a hamstring injury.

Woodgate trained today with no problems which is also good news for Sven-Goran Eriksson when the England coach tomorrow names his squad for the forthcoming European Championship qualifiers.

Leeds boss Terry Venables also has the opportunity to select Sweden international Teddy Lucic for Sunday’s game at Aston Villa as the 29-year-old is finally fit a few weeks after arriving from AIK Solna on a season-long loan.

Venables has yet to name his squad for the game, although there is a chance striker Michael Bridges could be on the bench after shaking off a recent knee problem.

Team (from): Robinson, Kelly, Harte, Dacourt, Woodgate, Bridges, Viduka, Kewell, Bowyer, Barmby, McPhail, Lucic, Smith, Mills, Bakke, Johnson, Matteo, Duberry, Okon, Burns, McMaster, Martyn.
