Blomqvist stands by for Charlton

Charlton manager Alan Curbishley could give Jesper Blomqvist his first start in tomorrow‘s Worthington Cup tie with Oxford.

Sweden international Blomqvist, a Champions League winner with Manchester United in 1999, has made a solitary appearance, as substitute against Arsenal, since moving to London before the transfer window closed on August 31.

He has been attempting to build up his match fitness, which was affected by a pre-season knee problem.

Meanwhile, midfielder Robbie Mustoe – who signed on the same day as Blomqvist and made his debut in the 3-1 defeat by United on Saturday – is set to continue against the club he started with 16 years ago.

Team (from): Kiely, Kishishev, Powell, Rufus, Fish, Brown, Konchesky, Bart-Williams, Euell, Robinson, Young, Jensen, Johansson, Bartlett, Svensson, Lisbie, Fortune, Blomqvist, Mustoe, Rachubka.
