Kerkar set for City debut

Algerian midfielder Karim Kerkar is in line for a debut against Liverpool as Manchester City skipper Ali Benarbia is ruled out through suspension.

Benarbia serves a one-match ban following his dismissal at Arsenal, leaving manager Kevin Keegan with a hole fill against one of his former clubs.

Richard Dunne continues to make progress on his own training programme but has not been considered for selection while Shaun Goater is struggling to overcome a groin injury.
