Rio backs Scholes over England no-show

Rio Ferdinand has offered his support to Manchester United team-mate Paul Scholes, insisting no player would “cheat” themselves by dodging England duty.

Scholes withdrew form Sven-Goran Eriksson‘s England squad to face Portugal at Villa Park on Saturday but caused controversy when he played in United’s 1-0 home win over Middlesbrough in midweek.
