Bray Wanderers 3 Drogheda United 2

Jason Byrne scored twice as Bray won in the league for the first time to move out of the bottom two.

A headed clearance from Maurice Farrell was touched on by Byrne for Barry O'Connor to run through and shoot home the opener on seven minutes.

Byrne then headed the second from a Stephen Fox cross on 67 minutes before lobbing Gary Rogers to make it 3-0 on 84 minutes.

Declan O'Brien led a late Drogheda recovery with a double. He hit his first following a scramble on 88 minutes before slotting home a penalty in stoppage time.

But Bray held on for a vital win.
