Taylor - We will fight to keep Vassell

Aston Villa will do everything they can to keep England striker Darius Vassell according to Graham Taylor.

Vassell has been linked with Manchester United in recent days, but Taylor is adamant he will not let the 22-year-old go without a fight.

Taylor told the club's official website: "Everything this club can do to keep him will be done.

"We're in negotiations with Darius and that needs to be kept in-house.

"I'm hoping we can continue in that vein and not on the back-pages of the newspapers. "Everything this club can do to keep him will be done."
