Swedish striker Marcus Allback crowned his Aston Villa debut with a stunning strike but it was veteran campaigner Steve Staunton who scored the goal which took them into the semi-finals of the Intertoto Cup.

Staunton struck a 77th minute winner as Villa came back from their 2-0 first leg deficit.

New signing Boulding scored Villa's first in the opening half.
