St Pat's kick off league campaign

Following their excellent performances in the Intertoto Cup, St Patrick's Athletic get their Premier Division season underway this evening against newly promoted Drogheda United at O2 Park.

The Saints are likely to be without Robbie Griffin, Tony Bird and Paul Osam. Drogheda should be at full strength however.

Table-toppers Bohemians give a late fitness test to skipper Kevin Hunt ahead of their clash with Derry City at Dalymount Park.

The Candystripes have to plan without the injured Tommy McCallion, Eamon Doherty, and striker Padraig Moran. Kick-off in both games in 7.45pm.

Elswhere Cork City hope to continue their good start as they welcome UCD to Turners Cross.

Veteran defender Declan Daly is ruled out by a knee injury while Conor O'Grady and Greg O'Halloran are suspended for the home side.

Kickoff is at 8pm.
