Brighton have named their little-known director of youth Martin Hinshelwood as their new first team boss.

Hinshelwood, who first arrived at the Seagulls in 1987, succeeds former England assistant coach Peter Taylor, who stunned the club by quitting just two weeks after leading them to the Division Two title in May.
