Fulham have signed Japanese World Cup star Junichi Inamoto, according to reports.

The midfielder joins the west London club on a one-year loan with a view to a permanent transfer.

Inamoto was on a loan deal with Arsenal, who chose to release him at he end of last season.

His current club, Gamba Osaka, in Japan, would be looking for a £3m (€4.7m) fee if the move became permanent.

Inamoto failed to make a Premiership appearance with Arsenal last season.
