Roy Dooney will leave his position as Eircom League Commissioner at the end of this month.

It is believed that Dooney has received a severance package with the FAI worth roughly €75,000.

Dooney has been the commissioner now for around one year. His contract had been originally for three years.

The move comes after a tough year for the Eircom league, dogged by problems last year.
