O'Leary: I know who's got my job
David O'Leary has claimed Leeds United have already lined up his successor at Elland Road following his shock sacking.
O'Leary revealed that he had no idea he was going to get the axe when he met Leeds chairman Pete Ridsdale.
A dejected O'Leary, speaking outside his home, claimed he knew who his successor at Elland Road would be.
O'Leary told Sky Sports News: "I went in (to the club) thinking I've got my holiday during which to organise things for next season and the chairman told me 'you've got the sack' - simple as that. He said nothing else, just that.
The Irishman, who said he had not been given a reason for his dismissal during the meeting, added: "I think I know who has got the job. It's already in place".
O'Leary defended his record as he explained how today's shock events unfolded.
He said: "I love football and I love the people here. They (the fans) were fantastic and I tried to do my best for them.
"I'm disappointed, but that's football. I've tried to do the best I can to run the club and I've had great support.
"I wish them all the best. It's a great club and a great place to live."
Of his successor, O'Leary added: "I wish them the best whoever gets the job."
