Wimbledon supporters are working on setting up a new club as they continue to fight their move to Milton Keynes.

Called AFC Wimbledon, and with the backing of Merton Council, fans hope to see the club in action in Ryman League Second Division next season.

The new club will start by sharing a ground with another local club, although a groundshare at neighbours Tooting and Mitcham FC has been ruled out under government planning guidelines.

Meanwhile following a meeting with members of the Wimbledon Independent Supporters Association (WISA) and the Dons Trust, the council are looking into claiming the club's crest, name and honours as part of the borough's local heritage.
