Denmark 1, Senegal 1 (full-time)

Denmark and Senegal have handed a World Cup boost to France with a draw in their Group A clash in Daegu.

Salif Diao was the villain-turned-hero-turned-villain as he gave away a penalty, then equalised and was then sent off.

Jon Dahl Tomasson converted the spot-kick on 16 minutes after a push in the area by Diao.

Denmark went in leading at the break, but the second half was only seven minutes old when Diao popped up again to slot past Thomas Sorenson.

He was sent off 10 minutes later for a second yellow card offence after a foul on Rene Henriksen.

Diao will now miss the next group match.
