'Victoria won't be there for World Cup' - Beckham

Victoria Beckham will not be flying out to the Far East to watch England play in the World Cup.

Husband David says the trip to Japan and South Korea is too long for pregnant Victoria.

But his parents are expected to arrive in time for England's first match against Sweden on Sunday.

"Victoria isn't coming," said the England captain. "Being seven-and-a-half months pregnant, travelling 14 hours is a bit too much."

Beckham also revealed that it has been hard being away from Victoria and young son Brooklyn.

"There's always frustration when I'm away from my wife and not training. It's difficult for every player to be away from their family," he said.

"Some cope with it better than others. But at least there is a lot going on."

But Beckham paid tribute to his wife's support as he battled back to full fitness.

"She looked after me very well," he said. "It was upsetting for her as she knows what it means for me to be involved in this tournament."
