Keane hopes Ireland have successful World Cup
Roy Keane has said he hopes the Irish team have a succesful World Cup - but is adamant he was wronged.
"I just hope that people get behind the team. That is the most important thing," said Keane.
But he is adamant that he was wronged in his "heated exchange" with Mick McCarthy.
"I might be a lot of things but I'm not a liar," he said.
Keane said he was upset by many of the comments made since the row with McCarthy.
"There was a lot of nonsense - about my wife. I said I needed to speak out. The people need to know the truth."
Keane said he was "forced into a corner".
"There was only going to be one winner - and that was Mick.
"I stand up for what I believe in. I try to live my life as honest as I can. I believe my gut feeling is right. What happened to me last week was wrong."
