Nuno Gomes and Pedro Pauleta both scored to give Portugal a 2-0 victory over China in their final World Cup warm-up match.

Playing before a capacity crowd of 18,000 at Macau Stadium, both sides had one clear chance of taking the lead in the first half.

To the dismay of Portuguese fans, Rui Costa missed a penalty in the 25th minute after Marco Caneira was fouled by Xu Yunlong.

Less than 10 minutes later, Portuguese goalkeeper Vitor Baia saved a point-blank shot from Du Wei.

The Portuguese dominated the second half and Gomes headed the ball into the Chinese net in the 50th minute and substitute Pauleta tapped in a simple goal from close range five minutes later.
