Scotland have suffered their fourth consecutive defeat under new manager Bertie Vogts after losing 2-0 to South Africa in a pre-World Cup friendly today.

Vogts switched to more defensive tactics for this morning’s game, putting Gary Caldwell in as a third centre-back, but his decision failed to boost Scotland’s performance.

Tebogo Makoena opened the scoring just over half and hour into the game.

Scotland almost produced a stunning late equaliser through a Maurice Ross lob, but in the end, they were caught on the break and substitute George Koumantarakis sealed the win for South Africa in injury time.
