Liverpool poised to announce Anfield plans
Liverpool are set to announce their proposed future stadium plans by lunchtime today.
The options are to the increase the capacity of Anfield - which currently holds 45,364 - or to build a new ground at the adjacent Stanley Park.
Officials from the club, Liverpool City Council, the Anfield Breckfield Steering Group and other key partners are expected to hear the crucial verdict tomorrow.
Manchester-based consultants GVA Grimley have spent the last two months examining the options being considered.
Liverpool have links with Anfield stretching back to 1892.
Then they were known as Liverpool Association and took over the ground after a dispute with Everton and their landlord.
