Republic jetting off to Japan

Even though Ireland lost out to Nigeria last night, the boys in green will be saying ‘sayonara’ to the loss as they set off for the World Cup today.

A big crowd is expected at Dublin Airport later this morning as the Irish squad departs for the far East.

Mick McCarthy’s team are due to take off from Dublin Airport at 10.15 this morning.

First, they will fly to Amsterdam, then they will fly on to Saipong in Japan.
