Eriksson faces injury dilemma

England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson was today attempting to solve his latest injury dilemma ahead of naming a World Cup squad after Nicky Butt became the latest player struck by the Old Trafford curse.

Having effectively sealed places for Joe Cole and Wes Brown, Eriksson chose to visit Anfield last night ahead of his squad announcement to cast his eye over three fringe candidates for the last remaining spot.
