Feyenoord, the first team to play a one-off UEFA Cup final on their home ground, have selected Christian Gyan in defence in the absence of the suspended Brett Emerton.

Strikers Pierre van Hooijdonk and Jon Dahl Tomasson will hope to sign off their prolific partnership with a fine performance, the Danish international playing his last game for Feyenoord prior to leaving for AC Milan.

Meanwhile, the newly crowned Bundesliga champions, Dortmund, are close to full strength, missing only suspended defender Christoph Metzfelder and injured striker Heiko Herrlich.

The match will be the last in the long career of Dortmund's Jürgen Kohler, who is taking up a coaching role with the German Under-21 side.

The match will be preceded by a minute’s silence for the assassinated Dutch politician Pim Fortuyn.
