A draw at Manchester United on Wednesday would bring the Frenchman his second double and cement his reputation as one of the outstanding bosses of his generation.

He has had some hard acts to follow - Sir Matt Busby, Bill Shankly, Bob Paisley, Don Revie, Brian Clough and, still his closest competitor, Sir Alex Ferguson.
