Manchester United defender Gary Neville could be out of action for six weeks after breaking a bone in his foot against Bayer Leverkusen last night.

The England international was stretchered off the field after just 17 minutes after breaking a metatarsal bone in his left foot, an identical injury to the one suffered by David Beckham three weeks ago.

Early reports said Neville is expected to be sidelined for at least a month, meaning he could miss England’s opening World Cup game against Sweden on June 2nd.
