World Cup: Keane to have knee scan amid fresh injury scare

Ireland captain Roy Keane is due to have a scan on his knee today, sparking fresh fears that the influential midfielder could miss the World Cup in Japan and South Korea this summer.

Keane will be out of action for at least a month after injuring his hamstring in Manchester United’s Champions League clash with Deportivo La Coruna on Tuesday, but reports today suggest he may also have a knee ligament problem.

Keane missed almost all of the 1997-1998 season because of a knee ligament injury.
