Sheffield Wednesday’s Leigh Bromby has suffered a setback in his comeback from injury.

The Owls defender was set to play in a reserve match against Bradford but sustained a recurrence of a hamstring injury after playing 45 minutes against Manchester United reserves.

Reserve team coach Martin Hodge said: ‘‘He is still getting a twinge in his hamstring and until it is correct he won’t be playing.

‘‘We took him off at half-time during the match against Manchester United as he was feeling a twinge in his hamstring and lower back.

‘‘He’s been out for such a long time we were just keeping an eye on him. It would be foolish to rush him into games.’’
