David Beckham and Ruud van Nistelrooy scored to put Man United in a commanding position against Deportivo La Coruna for their quarter-final second leg at Old Trafford.

Beckham opened the scoring with a chip on 15 minutes before van Nistelrooy netted on 41 minutes.

Just before the interval Roy Keane was stretchered off with a hamstring injury.

Much of the shine went off United's night in the second-half as Ryan Giggs had a string of misses.

With minutes to go, United's night got worse on the injury front as Beckham was stretchered off the field.
