FA Cup: We wanted revenge -

Two-goal Chelsea hero Eidur Gudjohnsen today dumped Tottenham out of the FA Cup at White Hart Lane then claimed he was on a revenge mission for his team’s 5-1 Worthington Cup humiliation at the hands of the London rivals.

Chelsea beat Spurs 4-0 in the quarter-final clash to wipe out memories of that stunning defeat in the semi-final second leg of the other domestic cup six weeks ago.

Gudjohnsen said: ‘‘Everyone knew we wanted revenge. The first half was very competitive, but we got one up and in the last 15 minutes of the opening half we were under pressure.

‘‘In the end they made mistakes, and in a game like this you are going to make some mistakes. It was better for us that they made them, not us.’’

The Icelander’s fellow Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was also keen to set the record straight after the Worthington Cup defeat.

‘‘We were prepared and up for this,’’ he told Sky Sports.

‘‘We were ready for everything. We knew they would start quick and we had to do the same.’’

But Hasselbaink knows there is a long way to go before Chelsea can start dreaming of the Millennium Stadium and the FA Cup final.

‘‘We have done nothing yet - we all know that. We still have a semi to play and do not know who we are going to draw. There will be four great teams in the hat.’’

William Gallas and Graeme Le Saux added the other goals before the latter was sent off for two bookable offences.
