Soccer: Halifax put all their players on transfer list
The directors of Halifax Town have told prospective new owners to come up with a "minimum six figure sum" for the club.
The directors have put the club up for sale and all the squad have been placed on the transfer list.
But chairman Bob Walker has refused to reveal how much debt the club is in.
With the club leasing the ground from the local authority and training taking place at the YMCA ground in Huddersfield, the only assets the club have are the players.
Director Ray Crabtree revealed all the squad have been placed on the transfer list and their details circulated to other clubs, but he stressed they were still being paid.
Twins Chris and Matt Clarke have both been on trial with Manchester City recently and their progress is still being monitored by the First Division leaders.
Halifax are struggling at the foot of the Third Division and fighting for their Football League status as they are five points adrift at the foot of the table with 14 games to go.
Crabtree invited interested parties with a minimum six-figure sum to invest to contact the club while Walker said the board would be prepared to either work alongside potential investors or step aside and let someone else take over.
Walker added: "We are remaining upbeat about the situation and we will monitor it on a daily basis, but we welcome anybody who shows an interest in Halifax Town to come and speak to us."
