David Beckham could be doubtful for Manchester United's Champions League clash with Nantes next Wednesday.

Beckham suffered a double ankle injury in England's draw with Holland in Amsterdam.

The England captain had been a doubt for the match after damaging the same ankle in United's Premiership victory at Charlton on Sunday.

He was passed fit to face the Dutch but could now be struggling when United return to European action.

Beckham said: "I got a kick on the same ankle that I had got a kick on the other day - but I also got a heavier kick on the other side.

"I will just have to see how it is in the morning, but it certainly feels bad at the moment. I'll have to go into the club in the morning and see what they say.

"At this moment I don't know the extent of the damage. But it is really swollen, so I'll just have to wait and see."
