Fulham also overcame Wycombe in their 3rd round replay thanks to Barry Hayles 67th minute winner. The Cottagers will now face York in the next phase.

Crewe created a surprise by beating Sheffield Wednesday 2-1. Steve Foster got the winner after Ben Rix had put them ahead. Matt Hamshaw got a consolation for the Owls.

Preston will meet Sheffield United in the next round after a comfortable 2-0 win over Brighton. Erik Skora and Jon Macken got the goals.

Peterborough and Darlington must meet again after a 2-2 draw. The winner of that tie meets Newcastle.
