Premiership: United target Reiziger
Manchester United have targeted unsettled Barcelona defender Michael Reiziger, according to the Holland international's agent.
The former Ajax and AC Milan right-back has fallen out of favour at the Nou Camp.
And his agent, Siggi Lens, says that United could be set to offer him a deal.
"Michael knows that Manchester are interested in him and I know the club have been in contact with Barcelona about the matter," he said.
However, Lens insisted a deal was not imminent, admitting that the matter is in the hands of Barca boss Carles Rexach.
He said: "Although someone from Manchester has called, and Michael is proud of the interest they are showing in him, I understand Barcelona have not decided anything and we shall have to see if there is an agreement to let him leave."
As with Barca last season, United's defence has been much criticised and Lens has little doubt that Reiziger would do well for the Old Trafford side.
"Michael has played in some of the best teams in the world. He has done so for Ajax, Milan and now he is at Barcelona, he would be willing to play in a team such as Manchester," he told said.
