Derek McGrath earned bottom of the table Monaghan only their second win of the season as they shocked league leaders Shelbourne at Century Homes Park.

McGrath struck for the only goal of the game on 78 minutes when heading home Eddie Meier's cross.

Shels had much the better of the game up to then twice hitting the woodwork through Jim Gannon and Monaghan defender Robbie Brunton who headed against his own crossbar.
