Premiership: Di Canio in talks with Man Utd

West Ham striker Paulo di Canio has reportedly held talks with officials at Manchester United over a possible move to Old Trafford.

The 33-year-old Italian has been unhappy at West Ham since the departure of manager Harry Redknapp and reports suggest he is preparing to join United for £3.5m this weekend.

United have refused to be drawn on the reports, but they are believed to have had talks with the player’s representatives.

United manager Alex Ferguson is known to be an admirer of di Canio, who would fill the vacancy left by Teddy Sheringham’s departure last summer.
