Premiership: United swoop for Forlan

Manchester United are lining up a £6m bid for Uruguayan international Diego Forlan as a replacement for Andy Cole, according to a British tabloid.

The 23-year-old, who plays in Argentina for Independiente, has impressed United's scouts and could fly into Manchester this week to thrash out a deal.

Talks have reportedly already started between the two clubs, and it is believed Forlan has a valid passport to play in Europe as he has an Italian background.
