Ipswich demolished Sunderland 5-0 to continue their revival with a third successive victory and boost their Premiership survival hopes.

A three-goal blitz in the space of five minutes during the first half demolished Peter Reid’s men as Alun Armstrong hit two goals.

Thomas Gaardsoe and Finidi George also got in on the act at Portman Road before substitute

Jamie Clapham netted late on.

Jermaine Wright went on for Bent with 11 minutes still to play and Magilton got a stern talking to from Poll when he went over in the box rather theatrically under a challenge from Thome.

Clapham then completed the rout on 85 minutes when he combined with Naylor to smash home from close range.
