The trial of five Turks accused of killing two Leeds United soccer fans last year was adjourned until February in Istanbul today.

Christopher Loftus and Kevin Speight were stabbed to death in April 2000, on the eve of a UEFA Cup semi-final game between Leeds and Galatasaray in Istanbul.

Prosecutors have demanded prison sentences of up to 30 years for five Turks accused of killing the English fans.

Fourteen other suspects accused of involvement in the fighting and one who is charged with concealing weapons from police face sentences of up to five years.
