Premiership: Najeib family 'to take civil action against Leeds United'
The family of Sarfraz Najeib has reportedly confirmed it will take civil action against Lee Bowyer, Jonathan Woodgate and Leeds United.
The BBC quotes family spokesman Suresh Grover as saying Mr Najeib's father will give a press conference in Sheffield later this week.
Woodgate was convicted of affray, but cleared of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. Bowyer was cleared of all charges.
Sarfraz Najeib was attacked in Leeds city centre in January 2000. He was beaten unconscious, bitten on the face and suffered a broken leg, nose and cheekbone.
Paul Clifford was jailed for six years for GBH with intent and affray.
Neale Caveney was found guilty of affray. Former Leeds striker, Anthony Hackworth, was found not guilty of GBH with intent and affray.
The BBC says the Najeib family wants to take action against Bowyer, Woodgate, Hackworth, Paul Clifford, Neale Caveney, and Leeds United Football Club.
After the court case, Suresh Grover criticised Leeds United for showing an unsympathetic and uncaring attitude to the Najeib family.
