Kilkenny City 2, Waterford United 1

All the drama came in the five minutes of time added on at the end of the game as both sides finished with 10 men in a dramatic south-east derby at Buckley Park.

A goal from Gary Dempsey on the stroke of full-time looked to have earned Waterford a replay date but Ben Whelehan swept the ball home in the 95th minute after he got on the end of a pull-back from Brian Rickard, who had raced clear down the right.

Kilkenny's Philip Hughes, who sent in Mark Revins for Kilkenny's opener after only seven minutes, and Waterford substitute Davy Walsh were both given their marching orders by Cork official Anthony Buttimer for fighting.
